Time and wear leave a print on most natural materials and this is the concept from which the Grit Collection started. The industrial israeli designer Avi Fedida choose as the main material for his furniture and lighting collection sandpaper.
The sandpaper is “colored” with different types of wood and the process is fascinating, somehow similar to painting as the sandpaper is like the canvas for the designer. If you are interested in the coloring process, watch this video.
With time, each piece develops a unique feature, due to the way time and wear affect them and also considering the space where they are used (indoor/outdoor).
Oak constructions mixed with sandpaper canvas, inspiration and at least a small touch of love for his work, these are the ingredients that Avi Fedida needed in order to make such an interesting and appealing furniture and lighting collection as Grit.
